This privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) for SaruAI LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our“), describes how and why we might collect, store, use, and/or share (“process“) your information when you use our services (“Services“).

By using or accessing the Service, you consent to the data practices described of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Services.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Information You Provide

For a better experience, when registering or while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information. The information that we request will be retained by us and used as described in this privacy policy.

Activity Data

When you use the Service, you will submit information and content to your profile. We will also generate data about based on your use of our Services.

Speaking Practice

When you practice speaking on the Service, we will use your device’s microphone to record and recognize your speech. Your audio recordings may be sent to a third-party provider such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Apple, Microsoft, or Google, and we may also retain them until you close your account. We use this data primarily to help improve the quality of our services and for internal research purposes. You can disable speaking practice exercises in Settings.

Information Automatically Collected

We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Services, and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.

Like many businesses, we also collect information through cookies and similar technologies.

Third Party Service Providers

The Service partners with third party service providers that may collect, or aggregate information used to identify you. Please refer to the privacy polices of our third-party providers: Google AdMob.

We may occasionally send you service related and product change announcements through the general operation of the Service. We may also send you reminder notifications to reinforce learning cadence of our teaching methodology. We process your data to help provide you with the Service, to improve the Service, offer personalized features, and to keep the Service safe, secure, for fraud prevention, and to comply with the law. We will also collect and use your personal and device information for problems and errors for the Service, including communicating with you about your account or for technical assistance.

We may use or share anonymous data collected through the Service, including Activity Data without limitation. As a business, it is critical that we perform our contract with the best service possible, and it is in our legitimate interest to perform these processing functions for the Service.

3. SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION WITH THIRD PARTIES

We take your privacy seriously and share your personal information only when it is necessary to offer the Service, legally required, or permitted by you. We may need to share your personal information in the following situations:

This includes hosting providers, such as Amazon Web Services or Google, analytics providers and support providers Apple and Google. These providers and partners will be permitted to obtain only the Personal Information they need to provide their service. They are required to maintain the confidentiality of the information and are prohibited from using it for any other purpose. 

Affiliates. We may share your information with our affiliates, in which case we will require those affiliates to honor this privacy notice. Affiliates include our parent company and any subsidiaries, joint venture partners, or other companies that we control or that are under common control with us.

Business Transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company. If a password is used to protect your profile and Personal Information, it is your responsibility to keep your password confidential. You may reset your password in Settings and may contact us directly for assistance in resetting your password, if necessary.

7. DATA RETENTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

8. PERSONAL INFORMATION DATA RIGHTS

Account Information

You have the right to request access to, modify or erase your personal information. You can manage your account settings in the Service under Settings, to update, amend, and correct your information. To request to review your personal information, please send us a data subject access request to help@saruai.com

Withdrawing Consent

You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account, by accessing account settings in Settings. Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and personal information from our services, after this point, we will retain anonymous data collected through the Service, including Activity Data, which may be used by us and shared with third parties in any manner. We may also retain some personal information in our records to prevent fraud, troubleshoot future problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our legal terms and/or comply with applicable legal requirements.

Please note that this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before its withdrawal nor, when applicable law allows, will it affect the processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.

9. THIRD PARTY SITES

This Service may contain links and advertisements to other third-party platforms, websites, other mobile applications, special offers, or promos that are not owned or controlled by us. We do not endorse, represent, or assume any responsibility for any such links and advertisements. By clicking on a third-party link, you will be directed to that platform, website, or mobile application, and subject to the privacy policies, practices, and terms of use that will be different from those disclosed here. We assume no responsibility for the independent policies, practices, and terms of use of such linked platforms, websites, and mobile applications, and strongly advise you to review them prior to use.

Additionally, other companies which place advertising on our Service may collect information about you when you view or click on their advertising, through the use of cookies or other tracking mechanisms. We cannot control this collection of information. You should contact these advertisers directly if you have any questions about their use of the information that they collect.

10. INFORMATION FROM MINORS

We do not knowingly collect or solicit data from or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent’s use of the Services.

In the case we discover that a user less than 13 years of age has provided us personal information, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you become aware that your child under the age of 13 has provided us personal information, please contact us at help@saruai.com so we will be able to take the necessary actions.

Further, we do not knowingly accept, request, or solicit information from children or knowingly market to children. Therefore, in accordance with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, if we receive actual knowledge that anyone under the age of 13 has provided personal information to us without the requisite and verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information from the Services as quickly as is reasonably practical.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, we encourage you to review this Privacy Policy frequently for any changes of how we are using and protecting your information. The updated version will be indicated by a revised “Updated” date and the updated version will be effective as soon as it posted.
